Alpacas & Other Animals
We have a total of 14 alpacas, a couple of Bantam roosters, and 6 gorgeous laying hens! Each animal has their own personalities, especially the alpacas. They have added so much joy to the farm! Each day is something new - we are constantly learning about the alpacas. A couple fun facts:
The typical gestation period for an alpaca is ~ 11.5 months!
Provided there are no complications, they give birth anytime between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.! (Which might be the coolest fun fact)
A baby is called a “cria”
They only have bottom teeth!
